Many hedgehog owners occasionally remove dirt (and poop!) from their prickly friends’ quills and feet using a toothbrush. If it’s done right, most hedgehogs will be cool with it — just be sure you also use a gentle shampoo (oatmeal shampoo is a good, soothing option for dry hedgehog skin), a soft brush, and a sink filled with warm water.
